Picture yourself in a world, not too unlike this one. Only, there's no one around, just you and your friend. Your objectives are not clear at first but as you two traverse through the world, they reveal themselves to you. This is a game that integrates spiritual aspects of creation and myth to create for the player a fun, facinating, and hopfully imaginative adventure. There is excitment, danger, and peril around any corner, and it is up to the player to decide where to go and what to do.
I have thought of a few specific objectives or challenges for the player(s).
- track and mythical beast, using a "spirit tracking" technique used by Native Americans
- unlock gates to other areas of the map
- create medicines, potions that give the player special abilities
- cross dangerous bridges, rivers to advance through the world
- quest for manuscripts that give information about the land, and the history
- steal a potion or ingredient from an dangerous creature.
- hunt ellusive creatures for food
Within these ideas, I think there are multiple ways and or trials the player must go through to achieve their goals. Most of these lend themselves to a nature realm, but let's not limit ourselves. The basic idea is a semi-melancholy, my-pace sort of exploration adventure game that inspires the player. The land itself must also be inspiring and make the player curious about the history and ecology of the planet.
More ideas are slowly trickling out.
Thanks,
