1A - Hello World

1A - Hello World

Postby Bob » Mon Sep 17, 2007 3:29 pm

Just as with every programming language it is often the first step in understanding a language to do the iconic Hello World application, we are going to test out the waters here and see how many hello world programs we can pull together and see how many languages our user base is supporting.

I ask that no one submit any applications for this one in languages that havent been posted already but I really don’t mind.
As a suggestion, and if you don’t want me to have to edit your post I also request that you wrap your code in the appropriate tags.
Be adventurous, try a language you haven’t ever touched and lets see what we can pull off!

Enjoy guys, Enter Ruby:
Code: Select all
print 'Hello From Ruby!'

And again in Perl:
Code: Select all
print 'Hello From Ruby!'

And again in Python:
Code: Select all
print 'Hello From Ruby!'

PHP
Code: Select all
<?php echo "Hello world"; ?>

Java
Code: Select all
public class HelloWorld{
public static void main(String args[])
{
System.out.prinln("Hello World");
}
}

Code: Select all
void main()
{
cout<<"Hello World";
}

APL
Code: Select all
!hello<-$().</?->||%$

yeah the last one was a gag... APL is just way to cryptic for my taste :P , or any practical use for that matter.
eidt : i left out the includes...
