In short, don?t be mean or stupid.

The lengthy explanation would include a warning like this

Post only pertinent views, thoughts, criticism, etc that does not in any way impede or derail the forward motion and discussion in the threads below. All of those shenanigans belong in the OTF. Offenders will be warned and may be removed from having access to the Other Development forum or further actions if they continue to ignore these provisions.

And would probably be followed by something like this

Posts in this forum should not contain anything that can be considered to be derogatory, racist, sexist etc. Off the hip remarks are permitted but these forums are not to become flame wars. All opinions are able to be voiced, but if your opinion is not valid, at the discretion of the moderators, it will be split or deleted from the thread.

But it?s a drag to have to point that sort of stuff out.

Also

Posting something along the lines of ?this is overly ambitious? or anything to the like is not appreciated. We understand that our projects may not all be simple or straight forward, if they were they wouldn?t be projects, and they would probably already be done, so keep all negativity out of these forums. If you have something constructive to say, it is perfectly fine to post it in these forums, but if its coming out of left field, prepare for your light sabers to be revoked.
